Recipes: Texas Famous "low-calorie" (Smile!) Comfort Food Frito Chili Pie!
These of course are made in Dallas! My hometown! And they are a "must" for real Frito Chili Pies!
Basically it is fritos, put at the bottom of the bowl.
Then you add the chili. Then TONS of Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Must be Extra Sharp Cheddar! No other cheese will do!
Then I personally "drown" my chili with a bottle (almost!) of Tabasco sauce.
Then to really make this dish super low-calorie: Several heaping tablespoons of sour cream.
NOW THIS is divine Texas comfort food to the max!
Then to go with this:
You simply MUST have A & W Root Beer. It MUST be served in a frozen mug.Best kind of mug is a good german beer mug. They hold the ice well for a long time..
